Speaker Series: The Rey Center’s Speaker Series brings thought-provoking discussions to the heart of the valley. Featuring experts, authors, and passionate storytellers, each event offers insights on topics ranging from science and conservation to art and history. Join us for an evening of learning, inspiration, and meaningful conversation.
Literary & Current Events Discussion Group: For book lovers, deep thinkers, and engaged citizens alike, our Literary & Current Events Discussion Groups offer a space for meaningful conversations. We explore a wide range of literature, from timeless classics to contemporary works, while also diving into thought-provoking discussions on current events. Whether you’re passionate about storytelling or eager to analyze the world around us, join us in sharing perspectives, expanding our understanding, and engaging in lively dialogue.
Astronomy & Star Gazing: Experience the magic of the night sky with our Astronomy Today program, – looking at the stars the way Hans did. “The Stars” by Hans Rey.

July 5 at 7 pm -will allow for solar viewing before presentation and moon viewing after]
August 2 at 7 pm -will allow for solar viewing before presentation and moon viewing after
December 20 at 6pm with watch after the presentation weather permitting.
Sponsored by Snowy Owl Inn, these sessions offer a chance to learn about constellations, planets, and deep space wonders—all set against the breathtaking dark skies of the valley. Bring your curiosity and a sense of wonder! (smaller tribute to al, founder initiator of it)

Community Gardens & Nature Notes: The Rey Center’s Community Gardens invite locals and visitors alike to connect with nature through hands-on gardening. Whether you're an experienced grower or a curious beginner, these shared spaces foster sustainability, education, and a love for the outdoors.
Nature Notes: A joint Video-Blog venture with The Rey Center and the Waterville Valley Recreation Department. We love where we live and want to share bits of our natural environment with you, wherever you may be! Tune in to explore seasonal wonders, local wildlife, and fascinating ecological insights from our beautiful mountain valley. (embedded, be able to see entire archive of videos)
Music in the Valley: Music in the Valley celebrates the power of live music to bring people together. From folk to jazz, classical to contemporary, our concerts showcase talented musicians in an intimate setting, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Come enjoy the sounds of the valley under the open sky.
