Environmental Monitoring & Stewardship
Since 2008, the Rey Center has been monitoring the health of our forests and waterways. Through the Welch Ledges Education and Stewardship program, and Water Watchers volunteer water quality monitoring, staff and volunteers steward the natural beauty of Waterville Valley. Become a Citizen Science Investigator and join our team of volunteers conducting environmental monitoring in and around Waterville Valley.

Astronomy Programs
Waterville Valley’s dark night sky inspired the Reys to make their summer home here after their initial visit to our beautiful neck of the woods back in the 1950s. Rey Center astronomy programs continue Hans’ legacy of sharing his love of the nighttime sky with residents and visitors alike. Dark sky observing nights at the Curious George Cottage, night time constellation snowshoes and hikes around the Valley, and hands-on astronomy education for families are just a few of the ways the Rey Center keeps us looking toward the stars.
