Meet the Rey Center Board of Directors
Lynne Landa, Co-President
Lynne has been a part-time resident and property owner in Waterville Valley for over 20 years. She holds a BS and MBA in Health Care Administration, and has worked for a health care consulting firm in the Boston area for 15 years. In the years following the birth of her two daughters, Lynne has been an active volunteer in her children's schools as well as a volunteer for the local food pantry where she frequently prepares meals for a weekly community dinner. Lynne has a passion for cooking, and, with her husband Jeff, shares an interest in fine wines. Together they often host wine tasting events where the wines and food are carefully paired. An avid cross-country skier, Lynne enjoys cycling around the Valley during the summer and walker her little dog, "Monte."
Chris Bierbrier, Co-President
Chris has resided in Waterville Valley for over 20 years, and is one of the original Curious George Cottage members. Chris is involved in hiking, walk talks, nature walks, snowshoeing, stargazing, and community gardens. Chris has a BS and MBA in Nursing, and held an executive position in home health for over 8 years. She is currently President of Routes to Africa, a non-profit committed to empowering African people, and has grant writing and non-profit development experience.
Tina Koppel, Vice President
Tina has resided in Waterville Valley since moving here from Sharon, MA. She received her undergraduate degree in speech pathology and audiology from Emerson College in Boston, and received her MA in speech pathology at the University of Michigan. She and her husband, Michael, raised two children, Beth and Adam, who presently reside in Maine and Tokyo respectively. While in Sharon, in addition to working in her field, she was active in town affairs, her synagogue, wrote ballet reviews for several publications, and participated in the local theater where she acted, directed, and produced, as well as served on the board. Here in Waterville you can find Tina taking minutes for the planning board, on the nordic trails in the winter, and on the tennis court in the summer.
Alan Zelbow, Treasurer
Jan Stearns, Secretary
You may know Jan as author of the popular Jan’s Blog, she's been living in and loving New Hampshire's White Mountains for most of her life and moved to Waterville Valley in 1981. She brings with her an extensive background in marketing and public relations. Jan currently carries the additional titles of Executive V.P., Marketing Director, and Communications director for the Waterville Company, Waterville Valley Realty, and Waterville Valley Resort Association, respectively.
Laurence R. Young is the Apollo Program Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Professor of Health Sciences and Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Young has also been active in ski injury research. He was a Director of the International Society for Skiing Safety and chaired the Ski Injury Statistics Subcommittee of the American Society for Testing and Materials Committee on Snow Skiing before being elected Committee Chairman in 1987. He received the United States Ski Association Award of Merit and the Best Research Paper Award from the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He lives in Waterville Valley with his wife, photography critic and author Vicki Goldberg.
