We are excited to announce our 2015 Artist in Residence choice, Amanda Maffei. Amanda is an innovative, multi-talented artist and performer highly skilled in music, gifted in writing and visual arts, and well-versed in theater and humor. She energetically encourages and facilitates creativity in others, and actively examines and expresses life through her music and art.
Ms. Maffei has worked with public and private schools as well as summer camp programs for many years. She has worked with children from pre-school age through senior high school as general music teacher, choral conductor, musical theater director, vocal coach, piano teacher, music and movement specialist, performer, parent volunteer, and much much more. She has interacted with the public in many varying ways. She has performed concerts, presented programs of her work, played for community functions, as well as directing and performing through the Cultural Arts Alliance. She is often asked to contribute to special town wide celebrations in a musical context. In this way Ms. Maffei takes citizenship seriously and seeks out ways to be of service. During her time here in Waterville Valley she intends to complete a rough draft of an original musical theater piece based on an 1800s Norwegian folktale. We are very excited to have Amanda Maffei as our Artist in Residence and look forward to seeing her creativity bloom here in Waterville Valley! |
